Demos
Demo tracks are intended to take an early version of song and capture a rough performance. This allows artists to get an idea of how a fully produced version would sound. They are also a great way to pitch song ideas to others - whether that be bandmates, friends, managers, labels or promoters.
The Benefits of Recording a Demo
Recording a demo helps musicians to receive feedback from others on their work, allowing them to improve their craft.
Recording a demo provides musicians with an opportunity to showcase their musical talent.
Recording a demo increases the potential for professional opportunities, such as being signed to a record label.
A demo track can be used as a guide track. This is a rough version of a song which musicians can play along to when recording a single.

FAQs
Recording a demo can vary in session length. Sessions are led by the artist, meaning their attention to detail is up to them. If a rough demo is desired, a song could be completed in a few hours, whereas, if a more produced sound is desired, a longer session is required.
Garage Studios has a variety of professional recording equipment which is perfect for recording demos or full productions.
There are no additional fees for producing a demo at The Garage. Mixing will be included in the session time, and a basic master will be applied at the end of the session. Any addition work which is required will be charged at the standard rate of £15/hr.
We can be as creatively involved as you wish. If you would like advice on composition or arrangement, and other creative suggestions, we're happy to support. Or if you're already happy with your song and are simply wishing to get it recorded, we will focus on engineering and recording.
We have a range of instruments which musicians are free to use; from drums, to keyboards to acoustic and electric guitars.
